Question

Is there a way to change configuration on certain APs under ZD control?

Customer Environment

ZD controlled AP

Resolution

Typical scenarios:
  • Customer is interested in turning off LEDs on certain classroom APs not to draw attention from the students.
  • Also may want to reduce transmit power on certain APs to reduce AP crowding.
  • Allow only certain channels in a particular area
Under ZD controlled environment there is a way to group APs to control their behavior. All you need to do create a new AP group and move the APs that are under default group to this newly created group. You can find this feature under Configure --> Access Points page. There you will find settings to reduce power, disable status LEDs, deploy certain WLANs only, etc.
