Access Points in default IP address settings are unable to join the Zonedirector

Question

Access Points in default IP address settings are unable to join the Zonedirector

Customer Environment

Plain L2 switch with Zonedirector and four to five Access Points. ZD is running in its default IP address 192.168.0.2

Root Cause

Multiple Access Points running across the default IP address 192.168.0.1 will have a conflict IP address and will encounter issues when joining to the Zonedirector. Hence, none of the Access Points are going to register across the Zonedirector.

Resolution

This issue can be resolved either by assigning different static IP address for all the Access Points (or) this issue can be resolved by enabling the DHCP server across the Zonedirector.
